Born in Italy, entered the conservatory at age eleven, and graduated in piano and harpsichord in 2000 and 2004 respectively. He then moved to the Netherlands to study with Ton Koopman and Tini Mathot at the Royal Conservatoire of The Hague, earning a Master of Arts in 2009. The following year enrolled at Leiden University to pursue doctoral research on the music of N. Bruhns, an early baroque north-german composer.
